Operations Shift Leader
I’ve been with Sentosa Luge for two and a half years, and was promoted to Operations shift leader after 11 months. As part of my job, I supervise the daily running of Operations and also conduct training for new staff. I really love my job as I get to work outdoors in the fresh air, which is much better than sitting in an office all day.
It can get pretty busy on public holidays and weekends, but it’s a great working environment here and I really get an adrenaline rush whenever I’m riding down in a luge!I believe that Singapore’s tourism prospects are going to get even better in the future, and we are in a great position to contribute to and also benefit from it.
My advice for people who are keen to work in the Tourism industry is that they should be outgoing, enjoy working with people and be confident in their own abilities.
I initially joined Sentosa Luge as part of my work attachment while I was studying for my diploma in hospitality and tourism management at Polytechnic. I enjoyed being here so much that I decided to join them full time when I graduated!
As a Luge Ranger in Operations, I ensure our guests’ safety when they are on the luge and sky ride. I believe in always going the extra mile for our guests so that they enjoy themselves and have a great time at Sentosa Luge too!
My journey here has been absolutely great so far, and I’m looking forward to growing in my skills and abilities as a Luge Ranger.
I’ve been working in ticketing/retail at Sentosa Luge for two years now, and was initially recommended for the position by a friend.
All my colleagues here are a great bunch of people who work hard and play hard at the same time, so it’s a really nice place to work.
We want all our guests to have fun and enjoy memorable moments, so we always reach out to them with a friendly smile and a warm welcome to help make their experience a great one at Sentosa Luge!
This is my first job after I completed my National Service, and I’ve been with Sentosa Luge for the past three years.
As a Supervisor, I take care of the entire operations from the sky ride, luge ride, ticketing, to arranging the weekly rosters for ticketing staff. I’m also studying part-time for my marketing degree at SIM University, and Sentosa Luge has been really supportive in helping me to arrange a flexible work schedule so that I can pursue my studies and also work at the same time.
For me, winning the Singapore Tourism Board’s Excellent Service Award 2008 in the leisure attraction category has definitely been a highlight in my job at Sentosa Luge. And this is made possible because everyone here works together with teamwork and dedication to customer service excellence.
Ultimately at Sentosa Luge, it’s all about enhancing a truly unique and great tourism attraction with the warm human touch.
