Cloud computing is all the rage now. This is a technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. It allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access data at any computer with Internet access.

To respond to this demand, our company has opened multiple Cloud Computing centres in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and most recently in Singapore. To support customers in the region, we have also developed a full range of services including a high performance hybrid cloud solution, SmartCLOUD mail, backup and recovery services and even mobile high-definition (HD) video conferencing. We have to constantly think of solutions to achieve our goal, and that is to provide customers with optimum efficiency that directly improves business productivity.

What are the things you do on a day-to-day basis as a Marketing Manager? What was your greatest career achievement?

I have to juggle many hats, from public and media relations to events management and database management. I also develop lead generation programs and promotional programs.

Through hard work, dedication, lots of initiatives and creative thinking, I have won multiple global awards for my company’s services ever since I took on the responsibility in this area, which is a significant milestone for the company and myself.

How did you acquire the skill set to handle your current position?

I had a great mentor, who was also my then boss, in my first marketing role in the hospitality industry. He guided and shared with me on marketing know-how and skillset that are timeless and applicable no matter the type of company or industry one is in. I keep myself updated through keeping abreast with the latest marketing and technology news as well as networking with peers from my network.

Communications is key, be it with your bosses, your subordinates, peers or colleagues. A lot of times, problems arise due to miscommunications. We need to listen with an open mind and iterate clearly what expectations we have or are expected of.
