Finance, education, administration and logistics industry are in constant need of technical professionals’ expertise.
Sales Professionals are the ones who are in charge of selling hardware and software developed by the technical professionals. This is not your typical salesman’s job. If you want to become an IT sales professional, you will have to know everything about the products you’re selling. This includes how to operate these, how these can be applied within a company’s system, and how these should be maintained. You have to be able to convince your customers that the products you’re offering are essential to their business. Target big-name companies and institutions, and you’ll have a strong client base that you’ll be able to sell to on a consistent basis.
Support Professionals provide the after-sales support needed after the sales professional has sealed the deal. If this is your type of job, this will entail taking calls from companies who bought your product, and dealing with them when they have problems with your software or hardware. You’ll have to be an expert troubleshooter, and you’ll have to be able to determine if a problem can be fixed via simple over-the-phone instructions or a visit to the client’s office. Because you’ll be dealing with customers, you’ll have to have both good technology skills and people skills.
