Tips on Searching for Jobs
Searching jobs with jobsDB is very easy. At its most basic, you'll do three things:
- Enter a job title in the Keywords box (for example: 'factory', 'accountant', 'java developer') NOTE - shorter search terms tend to work best. Use "factory" rather than "factory worker".
- Enter which area you'd like to work in the Location box ( 'Sydney NSW', 'Melbourne VIC', 'Chippendale 2008')
- Click on the "Search Jobs" button. jobsDB will then start doing some heavy lifting to bring you the best jobs in town
Find Jobs in Surrounding Areas
default, jobsDB will try to find jobs in all areas within 50km from the
location you've entered. You can change the radius by clicking on the
drop down list marked as '
Distance' near the top of the result page. You can select 'Exact Location', '5kms', '10kms', or '25kms' to narrow your search.
Exact Phrases Search
To find jobs matching an exact phrase, put double quotes around the words.
For example: "project manager"
All searches made on jobsDB are case insensitive. Therefore, PROJECT MANAGER, project manager or Project Manager all return the same results.
Filter and Sort Search Results
Normally, jobsDB can return thousands of jobs for a particular query. If that's a bit much, you can use the left hand side navigation to refine the search results spectrum.
Currently, jobsDB allows filtering by titles, locations, job types and sources.
