In today's hectic working world, the challenge for companies is how they can effectively enable their staff to be productive and enjoy a good work-life balance at the same time. One company that has achieved success in this aspect is RHB Bank Berhad Singapore, a winner of this year's POSB Everyday Champions for Sports Award 2010.

Jason, can you please share about RHB Bank Berhad Singapore’s work-life balance activities?
RHB Bank Berhad Singapore has been a strong advocate in sports since 2005. More that 80% of our staff are actively involved in the promotion of the RHB Singapore Cup (football) as well as other sporting activities.
Every year since our foray into the sponsorship, RHB Bank conducts football related charity events / children's football clinics where children from various communities, schools and under privileged homes are given the opportunity to learn and train under a professional coach.
Other sports that our staff is involved in include badminton, yoga, dancing and bowling. To promote work-life balance, the staff from various departments get together for a jog in the CBD area around our Cecil Street branch and play badminton once a week. We also believe that involving all staff and their family members is very important. |

How have these work-life balance activities benefited your staff?
We believe that sports help foster positive values such as fun, charity and team spirit among staff. These sporting activities also help the staff members to bond among each other, customers, their families and the community.
I believe that it is important for our staff to feel a sense of belonging in RHB Bank Berhad Singapore. This is because satisfied and motivated employees are the key to success in any service-orientated business, and the many awards won by RHB Bank for our dedication to customer service excellence is testament to this as well. |

How has winning the POSB Everyday Champions for Sports Award 2010 inspired RHB Bank Berhad Singapore?
RHB Bank has been sharing our love for sports with Singaporeans for the past 6 years and I am proud to say that the sporting culture is strong in RHB Bank Berhad Singapore.
